THE PROBLEM

The Teacher Incentive Allotment program’s website was lacking in critical functions their users needed — a clear user journey and functioning resource page.

The Story

 

In 2019 a profound bill went through Texas Congress that included the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) — an initiative built into law that provided a pathway for Texas teachers to make over $100,000. Given to the Texas Education Agency to oversee as the public education governing body, the program built their initial website while starting their work.

However, the path to $100,000 was not as clear cut as it may seem. There were still misconceptions about the Teacher Incentive Allotment that created a barrier to entry for districts and teachers alike such as . In 2022 I was tasked by my team to manage our website redesign with our website vendor, Connective Agency.

Build a site that allowed our end users to intuitively navigate through the process of TIA

Address common misconceptions about the program while also marketing it to districts and teachers alike to create positive feelings towards the program.

Create a resource page design that was built more like a toolkit site.
